Terms of Use

This Terms of Use Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between Lead in Literacy LLC, doing business as Sure Start Reading (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and you, the user or purchaser (“you,” “parent,” “customer,” or “user”).

By using the website at https://learn.surestartreading.com (“Site”), or by purchasing access to Sure Start Reading materials, you agree to abide by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, you should not access or use this Site or our services.

1. Purpose and Intended Audience

Sure Start Reading provides educational resources, including on-demand video lessons, downloadable materials, and printed workbooks, designed to support early reading development in children. The Site is intended for use by adults (parents, caregivers, or educators). Children under age 13 may use the materials under adult supervision, but may not register for accounts or purchase products themselves.

2. Program Access and Use

When you purchase a Sure Start Reading product, you are granted a limited, non-transferable license to access:

- Streamed video lessons (viewable only)

- Downloadable PDF materials (for individual household use)

- Physical products such as workbooks, shipped to your provided address

You will receive login credentials for a member area hosted on Kajabi. You agree to:

- Use your membership for one household only

- Not share your login or materials with others outside your household

- Access materials for a period of 12 months from purchase

(Extensions may be granted by emailing [email protected])

Unauthorized use or duplication of materials will result in immediate termination of access without refund.

3. Intellectual Property

All materials on the Site, including videos, graphics, text, PDFs, lesson plans, and branding, are the property of Lead in Literacy LLC and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You agree not to:

- Share, resell, or reproduce the materials for use by others

- Post videos or PDFs publicly or on any digital platform

- Create derivative works from our content

You are granted a personal, revocable, non-transferable license for use within your own household. No ownership rights are transferred to you by accessing the Site or purchasing materials.

4. Payment Terms and Refund Policy

Payments

Purchases are securely processed via Stripe, WooCommerce, and Kajabi. You agree to provide accurate payment information and authorize us to charge your card for the purchase price at checkout.

We may offer subscription or recurring payment options in the future. If enrolled, you may pause or cancel recurring charges through your account or by contacting us at [email protected].

 

Refunds

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. We offer a 7-day full refund policy under these conditions:

- Digital-only customers must request a refund within 7 days of purchase.

- For physical product orders (e.g., workbooks, parent guides, engagement kits), all items must be returned in new, unused condition to receive a full refund. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

- Contact [email protected] with your order number to initiate a return or refund.

Once we receive the returned physical products and confirm their condition, your refund will be issued.

5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Sure Start Reading provides general educational information intended to support early literacy. However, we make no guarantees of specific learning outcomes. Results may vary based on a child's age, learning needs, and home support.

The materials are not intended as legal, therapeutic, or professional advice. We do not provide official documentation for homeschool compliance. 

No Warranties 

The Site and its contents are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. 

Limitation of Liability 

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sure Start Reading and Lead in Literacy LLC are not liable for any damages resulting from your use or misuse of the Site or materials, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. 

6. User Conduct and Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

- Share login credentials outside your household

- Upload our content to other websites or social platforms

- Misrepresent your identity or make fraudulent purchases

- Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s functionality 

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

7. Indemnification 

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lead in Literacy LLC, its officers, team members, and service providers from any losses, claims, damages, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) related to your use of the Site, violation of these Terms, or misuse of our content.

8. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or inability to provide services due to causes beyond our control, including natural disasters, platform outages, or internet disruptions.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

 This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Wake County, NC, and you agree to waive your right to participate in class actions. 

10. Changes to These Terms

 We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Site after such changes constitutes your agreement to the updated Terms. The current version will always be posted at https://learn.surestartreading.com.
